In the first of our Holy Week services, Steven Woods takes us through Genesis 22:1-19, discovering how it points us to the Easter Story.
Before you watch the video, listen to By Faith We See The Hand of God.
After you watch the video, feel free to pray the prayer below and listen to Yet Not I (maybe a new song for some of us, but fantastic words and a simple tune - I’m sure this is one you will want us to be doing in Railway Street when we meet back together).
Lord God, God of all grace
You have offered us a Saviour and given us faith to live in Him, to make him all of our desire, all of our hope, all of our joy.
This Easter, in the midst of the chaos that surrounds us, help us enter Christ as our refuge,
build on him as our foundation,
walk with him in his ways,
follow him as our guide,
conform to him as our example,
receive his instructions as our teacher,
rely on his intercession as our high priest
and obey him as our only and true king. May we never be ashamed of him or his word, but joyfully dwell in it.
We thank you that Jesus, your son, at the cross saved us from death. We thank you that he prepares a place for us in your kingdom. And as we journey as pilgrims through this world, we are assured of our salvation and the promises that you have made to provide for us.
Help us find joy, find peace and find hope in the finished work of our risen King.
Amen
