Ask people what they think of the church and you will not be short of opinions. People both inside and outside the church will offer a wide range of views especially highlighting that they think is wrong with the church. What others think of the church is important but far the more important question is what Jesus thinks of the church - after it is His church - He is its founder, ruler and judge.
In chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation we find an answer to this question. These chapters contain seven letters addressed to a particular church in the first century AD. These letters contain a personal message from the Lord of the church to His people.
But before we begin to look at these seven letters to see what Jesus has to say to His church in Railway Street today we need to begin with chapter 1 where the Apostle John receives a powerful vision of the Lord Jesus Christ.
